Other iPhone Improvements:
Mag Safe:
The iPhone 12 series will support Apples new MagSafe charging system. The charger magnetically “snaps” onto the back of the phone (even through some cases) and delivers 15W wireless charging.
Increased durability:
Apples new smartphones will bring improved IP68 water and dust resistance and Ceramic Shield glass for better durability.
iPhone 12 Trade offs:
The new iPhones wont include a charging brick or earbuds in the box as a result of smaller packaging. An opportunity for Apple to profit on accessories? Yes… But they will also reduce 2 million metric tons off annual carbon emission. Hopefully that will distract you from the extra money you will eventually spend on these accessories?
The fruit company will also continue selling previous iPhone models including last years iPhone 11, the iPhone XR and iPhone SE 2020. Never before have we seen such a range of prices in a years iPhone offerings. Now, consumers who prefer a budget phone, and, those that prefer a more expensive device will be pleased to find an iPhone for them.
Conclusion
We are excited to see the capabilities of the A14, 5G and LiDAR on iPhone. All this new tech will be pretty cool, but, only time will tell how many of these new features will stick.
The 12 Series changes how we interact with iPhone. A flat edge design, 5G, increased durability and MagSafe make iPhone 12, Mini, Pro and Max feel like a new and exciting experience. After all, the feeling of something new and exciting is what gets you to hand your hard earned cash over for that shiny new Apple phone.
