OnePlus Launches $79 AirPods Pro Competitor
The look may be familiar, but not the price!
OnePlus Buds launched at US $79
Come in Gray, White, and Nord Blue
10 Hour playback with a 10-minute charge
Comes with Dolby Atmos Surround Sound
IPX4 water resistance
Low-latency Mode
Noise Cancellation
Today, the OnePlus fanbase was thrilled to watch the company's highly anticipated truly wireless earbuds be announced in a unique “AR” fashion. Just a few days ago OnePlus started promoting their new earbuds, which were launched aside the even more hyped OnePlus Nord.
The OnePlus Buds come in three colors - Gray, White, and Nord Blue (not available in the USA). The charging case provides the Buds with a combined total battery life of 30 hours. Also, thanks to OnePlus’ revolutionary “Warp Charge” technology, the Buds can get up to 10 hours of playback with just 10 minutes of charge.
The earbuds come with Dolby Atmos and introduce “Spatial Sound” and Noise Cancellation much like Apple’s AirPods Pro — But for a fraction of the cost! The Buds continued to amaze fans with the addition of IPX4 water resistance (another AirPods Pro feature) and a low latency mode.
At just $79 the OnePlus Buds are competitively priced as they pack features even the $250 AirPod Pro’s didn’t have until recently. They also seem like an amazing competitor to the upcoming $150 Samsung Galaxy Buds Live. These earbuds will be disruptive as they bring the “Pro-level” features to a product undercutting the price of Apple's most basic wireless earbuds by over $50.
Conclusion:
With their new earbuds, OnePlus has continued to release products that live up to people’s expectations. Although the Buds lack a wireless charging case, it may seem too much to ask for an already feature-packed product that retails for $80. They will probably fair better than the Galaxy Buds because of the “cult-like” following OnePlus has. Samsung has failed to generate the following OnePlus has despite a larger customer base. The Buds come with features that are unimaginable at such a low price. OnePlus has truly lived up to its tagline of “flagship killer.”
