On 21st July, OnePlus launched its second mid-range smartphone ”OnePlus Nord” via the world’s first AR smartphone launch event. The OnePlus Nord comes with a hole-punch display design and quad cameras at the back. The phone also offers 5G connectivity. Moreover, the company claims that it has provided almost 300 optimizations to help the OnePlus Nord provide a “Fast and Smooth” experience.
Key Specs
With the Qualcomm snapdragon 765G SoC, OnePlus Nord targets the mid-range market. It offers a 6.44 inch full HD+ 90Hz AMOLED screen, 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Unlike OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, Nord comes with a single, super linear speaker and has noise cancellation support.
The phone keeps OnePlus' iconic alert slider and packs a 4,115 mAh battery supporting Warp Charge 30T — refueling Nord from 0 to 70% in just half an hour. There are two color options, Blue Marble and Gray Onyx; however only the 8GB and 12GB RAM model will get both options, the base variant (6GB+64GB only in India) will only be sold in Gray Onyx color.
Cameras
The Nord sports a quad camera setup headlined by a 48MP main camera alongside an 8MP ultra wide-angle shooter and 2MP macro lens + a 5MP depth sensor. The front hole-punch cutouts include two selfie cameras – a 32MP main camera and 8MP wide-angle camera.
Pricing and availability
OnePlus Nord will be available for purchase starting August 4. Only 8GB and 12GB RAM variants will be offered initially. The 6GB+64GB variant will arrive in September but only in India. Anyone who pre-ordered the phone in the last few weeks will be prompted to complete their purchase

OnePlus is known for being a company that creates phones to “kill” big brand name flagships. And, the OnePlus 9T would be no different! But, with the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro already being great phones, some tech enthusiasts are questioning the need for a phone in the middle.
