Sydney switches to 100% renewable energy
Solar and Wind are in the drivers seat!
City of Sydney transitions to 100% renewable energy

On July 1, the City of Sydney officially made the switch to one hundred percent renewable energy. The equivalent of all the electricity used by city operations will be powered renewably.
This is part of a plan made in 2016 with the aim to reduce the city’s emissions by 70% by 2030. Fortunately for Sydney (and Earth), a $60 million deal would help them achieve the proposed goal six years early (by 2024)! The deal would also save the city up to $500 million over the next 10 years and even reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 20,000 metric tonnes yearly.
The CEO of Flow Power, Matthew van der Linden, expressed the importance of Sydney’s commitment to achieving 100 percent renewable energy.
“If organizations can follow in the City’s footsteps, a net-zero carbon future for Australia is achievable.”
Sydney has always been a progressive in reducing greenhouse emissions. They became the first and only carbon neutral Australian government in 2007. Now, this deal is not only a major milestone for Sydney and Australia, but also for the world.
Conclusion:
This move is really mind-blowing. It’s what we always wanted to see. Although it’s only in Sydney as of now, it’s bound to spread to other cities around the world. A few years ago the state of South Australia got a new Tesla “battery” to store electricity and prevent blackouts. It can really be appreciated that battery technology is making great progress and only time can tell what more can we achieve by utilizing battery technology and moving to green energy.
OnePlus is known for being a company that creates phones to “kill” big brand name flagships. And, the OnePlus 9T would be no different! But, with the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro already being great phones, some tech enthusiasts are questioning the need for a phone in the middle.
