Initially, Tesla had said that Roadster would be released after the Model S in late 2020 [1] but that timeline was confirmed to have been pushed back in a September 2019 tweet by Musk.
Musk explained that the roadster will use a new tri-motor power-train setup which will first be tested on an updated Model S.
When Rogan asked about production timelines for the Roadster versus the Cybertruck Musk responded
“I think we should do the Cybertruck first.”
It is unclear exactly when Cybertruck will begin deliveries, but production is still slated for late 2021 despite expected slowdowns: The Berlin Gigafactory, Covid-19 and Model Y production.
Production and delivery timeline also depends on how quickly factories can reopen under Covid-19 closures. In a May 11th tweet, Elon Musk announces the Fremont, California Tesla Factory is reopening despite Alameda County’s orders to remain closed until restrictions are eased.
Tesla is restarting production today against Alameda County rules. I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me.

Tesla’s urgency to reopen factories makes it seem as if Tesla production will stay close to on track. However, delivery dates are also dependent on the automaker’s ability to complete priorities like factories based in foreign countries, which Tesla may find more difficult to open amidst global contraction and restrictions designed to stem the spread of the virus
From the verge of bankruptcy nearly a year ago to overcoming Model 3 production challenges the company has much more experience in introduction and mass manufacturing of new models. While some question how the truck will become road legal, it’s clear the Cybertruck is here to stay and quickly on the road to mass production.
OnePlus is known for being a company that creates phones to “kill” big brand name flagships. And, the OnePlus 9T would be no different! But, with the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro already being great phones, some tech enthusiasts are questioning the need for a phone in the middle.
